- Oral Cancer ScreeningOur new patient experience begins with a doctor’s exam. We want to provide new patients with a very thorough exam to address all of their oral health needs. We begin with necessary low radiation digital x-rays and photos of your teeth. With the photos, we can share things and show you exactly what we see. You will then have a review of your medical history, an oral cancer screening, periodontal disease evaluation, a cavity detecting exam and a TMJ screening. You will be informed of treatments that are needed. This will include things that are of immediate concern and things that will be needed in the future. The idea is that you will always know what we are doing at the next appointment and there are no surprises. This is a great opportunity to discuss goals of treatment and discuss any fears or concerns you may have. It also allows us to coordinate how we can make your treatment experience as positive as possible.

- Fillings
- VeneersVeneers, white (composite) fillings, sealants, and one appointment crowns all use bonding technology to produce a result that is more conservative of tooth structure and more aesthetically pleasing. At River City Dental, we stay current to offer techniques that are tested to give a quality long term result. Bonding technologies have really advanced as patients become more aware of its existence. Because of makeover television shows and more direct marketing towards the patient, many people don’t want to have dark teeth or big silver fillings. These techniques allow us to place restorations of teeth that are not noticeable and can correct almost any problem.
- CrownsWhen older or larger fillings show signs of breaking down or new decay, a crown (cap) is indicated to restore your tooth. Traditionally this is a two appointment procedure that involves wearing a temporary crown for two weeks. However, at River City Dental we have the technology to apply a crown in one appointment. > Learn More about One Appointment Crowns
- BridgesThe difference between dentures and a bridge is that dentures can be removed while a bridge is cemented in. Removable dentures are made of pink acrylic as a base and plastic teeth. The denture acrylic is very natural looking and the teeth come in many different shades and shapes. Your dentist is trained to pick teeth that will appear very natural. A denture can replace a couple teeth or all of your teeth. Sometimes a fixed bridge is not an option because there is not a tooth available on each side of the area where teeth are missing. This is where a removable denture is a treatment option. There are two kinds of removable dentures, a partial of full denture.

- Root Canal TreatmentA root canal is a procedure typically performed to alleviate a toothache. For this reason, they have a bad reputation. What causes the pain is pressure from a bacterial infection or nerve that is dying and is inflamed. To get rid of the infection, a root canal is done to begin the healing. They are a very common procedure involving the removal of the nerve from the inside of the tooth root and replacing it with a filling material.
- DenturesA partial removable denture uses the existing teeth to help hold the denture in place. Metal arms are fabricated that hold onto existing teeth to make it stable. The metal arms are hidden so that other people do not notice. If they can’t be hidden, there are techniques that can be used to hide them so that no one knows you are wearing a denture. The advantage of a removable denture is that is can be a very cost effective way to replace multiple teeth.
- Dental ImplantsAt River City, we work together with an oral surgeon to coordinate the best treatment for each individual case. This is especially important when placing multiple implants for replacing multiple teeth. We can give you the answers you need to make an informed decision whether implants are right for you.
- Teeth WhiteningTeeth whitening is a very popular procedure. At River City, you are offered two different techniques. Night time tray whitening is very effective, and it allows you to proceed at your own pace. Plastic trays are made to fit your teeth. At your convenience, a gel is loaded into the tray and worn for an hour or so for a couple weeks. You control how white you want your teeth to get by wearing them more or less frequently. This is a nice option for patients who have sensitive teeth because it lets you control the exposure to the whitening agent.
