We handle all cases that involve a charge of driving while intoxicated. This includes all misdemeanor and felony DWI charges. A majority of the DWI arrests/charges we see include associated criminal charges. For example, if a person gets into an accident while driving under the influence and causes physical injury to someone they will probably be charged with the Class C felony of assault in the 2nd degree. Most DWI cases also involve a civil court aspect. This is where the Missouri Department of Revenue takes steps to suspend the driver's license. We represent drivers in those actions in an effort to prevent their license from being suspended. Another aspect of our DWI practice involves the civil lawsuits that get sometimes get filed. Continuing with my example above, if a person is driving under the influence and causes an injury they can be sued by the person that was injured. We provide a legal defense for those lawsuits.
