George C. Weimer Elementary offers academic classes to students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes reading, writing, math and music. The school operates a library that offers a collection of books related to animals, biographies, mysteries, fantasies and humor. George C. Weimer Elementary maintains a parent-teacher organization that provides support and assistance to the school by organizing various fundraising events and activities. It works in partnership with Star USA Federal Credit Union. The school also employs Title 1 staff, Head Start aides, resource teachers, media specialists, and music and art counselors. The school is a part of Kanawha County Schools, which operates more than 50 elementary, middle and high schools, as well as a community education center.
