I talked with several people in the area who had racks installed on their car - they all pointed me to Rack N Road or could vouch they knew someone who had a good experience with Rack N Road.
I had an odd install - I wanted to carry four bikes on my Pace American covered Cargo trailer. John (the owner) looked at my vehicle and trailer to determine the options. While checking things out, he explained why certain options wouldn't work.
A couple weeks later we did the install. They had a fenced in area where my trailer stayed until I could pick it up.
There was an install issue that resulted in some damage to my bikes. They took the bikes to a local bike shop and paid for the repairs. Afterwards, the bikes were in better shape than before. They replaced the damaged parts with brand new, higher quality pieces than what was on the bike before the damage occurred.
Yeah, there was an issue with the install - but they more than took care of the problem.
The worst customer srevice I've ever experienced in my life! I ordered a hitch over the phone and was told it would take 1-2 days. On the 6th day, I called to check to see when it was coming in and the owner proceded to jump down my throat about calling too much (what??!!). As I tried to voice my concerns, he (the owner!!) would not let me finish anything I wanted to say. He just kept giving me excuses as he became shorter and shorter with me. The 2nd time I asked him to let me finish what I wanted to say, he told me that HE was done and that HE was cancelling the order and he hung up on me! HE HUNG UP ON ME!!! In shoke and disbelief that an OWNER would handle customers this way, I called back in tears as he continued to give me excuses about how he was "having a bad day" and that he was sorry he "took it out on me." Needless to say, I cancelled my order and will never shop there again! Hopefully you won't either... I would hate for you to catch him on a bad day. :)
The service I received from Rack N Road was GREAT! They have a variety of products and are happy to educate you on any of them.
