I had the most fabulous meal there last night. The pumpkin-shrimp soup was elegant and flavorful. Swordfish was cooked to perfection and dessert was a lovely bread pudding that was decadent and filling. Coffee was a little weak, but tasty. Service was great and I will definitely come back for seconds. Recommended to all.

Yes, I fell in love with a date. No silly! I am not talking about match.com or eharmony or even worse, the kind of date your friends set you up with. I fell in love with a date stuffed with warm goat cheese drizzled with pancetta. He/she was sweet, savory and deep all at once. What more can a woman ask for? She/he was also generous and warm...which is much better than most first dates. Fortunately for you this date was not exclusive. You too can join the new dating game here in Sacramento at Formoli's 33rd and J Street. If dates aren't your thing then try the shrooms-portabella that is, soaked in asiago. The pepper crusted seared Ahi tuna is simply other worldly.....A nautical dream come true. It's only competition is the seared scallop crusted with porcini mushrooms and the whiskey burger is to die for. An added plus is that you get to meet the chef as he cooks out in the open. The restaurant also features an array of delightful and deep French and Italian wines. With it's laid back atmosphere Formoli's is the best thing that has happened to Sacramento in a long long time.
