The Fair Political Practices Commission, also known as FPPC, is a bipartisan, independent body that oversees California s administration, technical assistance, legal and enforcement divisions. The commission regulates campaign financing and spending, financial conflicts, lobbyist registration and reporting, post-governmental employment and mass mailings. The Fair Political Practices Commission investigates alleged violations, imposes penalties and assists state and local agencies in developing and enforcing conflict-of-interest codes. It also conducts meetings every month to hear public testimony, issue opinions, adopt regulations and decide penalties. Additionally, the commission advices public agencies and officials, conducts seminars and training sessions and develops forms, manuals and instructions. The Fair Political Practices Commission is located in Sacramento, Calif.
