You know how you get attached to your doctor or dentist. Well I'm attached to my local framer. I live close, however, I'd still come here if I had to drive an hour. I've never written a review but I here everything is going the way of the internet and thought if anyone deserved to have good things said about them it's Kathy and her son KC. They are both terrific - I am never disappointed when I come in to pick up my completed pice.
Just had some framing done at this place, my frame shop that I have used for several years closed - so I found this on the internet. I was so happy with the service and the work. I've found my new frame shop.
It's great! I've been coming here for 6 months and I'm on my 5th piece being framed. They are all beautiful - I have several unframed pieces and to save cost the owner suggested I just bring in one a month. It works out great.
This is the first time I've written a review, but I was so impressed with the customer service and knowledge that I had to do something. I took in a piece of art to be framed and I was impressed at the selection and the process. The woman asked me if I knew what I wanted or if I wanted her to just start pulling samples and selecting. The process was fun - she listened to what I had to say and she informed me of the whole process. I have to admit I shopped around for estimates before coming into this shop. While we were selecting frames I thought to myself I know this is going to cost more but I'm okay with that because this lady knows what she is doing. Then when she gave me the price - it was lower than Aaron Brothers and Midtown Framing. By the way I picked up my pieces last week and it was perfect. I'm sold!
I had recently remodeled my bathroom and was in search of a print of Venus' face from Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" to hang on the wall. I could not find a print of just Venus' face, so finally I thought I'd buy the full size print and cut the Venus out of it! I went to print shops, frame stores and even to the "box" stores that stock tons of prints stacked in a bin. I was frustrated and having no luck finding my Botticelli ...until I visited Kathy at Artistic Edge.
I described what I wanted and told Kathy I'd be hanging it in my bathroom. Water and steam would be a concern so my print would need special framing. Well, Kathy opened up a whole new world of print possibilities by showing me what Artistic Edge offered on-line. I found a close-up print of just Venus' face so I wouldn't have to cut and size it myself from the larger print. Then Kathy showed me how they could make my print into a wooden plaque that wouldn't need matting or framing in glass which made it perfect for the humidity of a bathroom!
I really appreciated Kathy's creative advice and the on-line guidance she gave this "not-so-computer-literate" customer
saved me a lot of time and effort. My print/plaque looks fantastic and is the crowning touch to my "Botticelli Bathroom"!
Artistic Edge is the best framing store in Sacramento. Kathy Caitano is very professional and has a wonderful artistic eye. She sees the pieces for what they are and is open to her customers' needs and wishes. But is gives sensitive recommendations if wished. It's a pleasure to work with Kathy.
The prices are fair and the framing excellent. I highly recommend Artistic Edge for personal and business framing.
Besides, AE is a great gallery to show and to buy good art.

We have had Kathy frame over 30 watercolors and could not be more satisfied. With an amazing variety of frame materials to choose from Kathy enhanced the art with custom frames that made every piece look great. The prices are reasonable and we got a great discount for doing so many. To top it all off a new local artist is featured every month and given lots of space to display their works. Artistic Edge is a great community resource well worth a visit for both those needing frame work done and for those shopping for art.
Since Artistic Edge opened I have purchased four pieces of art work - 2 from the local artist that she has come in once a month for an open house. There is such a good selection of different types of art work there, that I love going there - its like being at an art gallery.
The work is magnificent and there is a great selection of frames. I had my son's diploma framed and the matting she suggested made it look real special.
She even called me before she started work on the last picture I bought and thought maybe besides the frame I had selected that maybe it needed a liner also - I went back in and she was right. I am picking it up next week.
Besides me - my son has had some posters framed there also - they came out great - I had gotten him a gift certificate for Christmas. He liked the first one so much he had two more done.
I purchased a piece of art from one of their local artist they were showing and the owner helped me pick out the perfect frame. I loved the piece before it was framed - but after it was framed it was even more beautiful.
