Great family diner. Im responding to the credit card tip issues. With online banking it can be deceiving when you leave a tip at a business. Your actual tip will not show up until the business closes out or batches out the credit card terminal. As a result until this happens the bill seems higher than it should. If the card card holder read the fine print on their credit/debit card they would realize that most banks will reserve a standard tip allowance on the transaction until the merchant transmits the final batch. Im confident if this person checked out the same transaction a day or two later they would see that this was the case. If a merchant is set up with tip allowances you will encounter this everytime. In the end it washes out when the business settles the credit card batch. This as a banking issue that sometimes gives a business a bad rap! Have always had a great experience in this paticular eatery.

This is to the person below who stated the waitress changed their tip. When this happened did you call the restaurant and let them know that this occurred? This has never happened to me at this particular restaurant but it has at other restaurants and I always have called them back and they had an explanation. In both my cases my math was off. For example if the bill comes to 23.40 and you leave 5.60 for a tip but in the total you put 28.00 then they will change it to 29.00 cuz the math was off. I was told by both restaurants this happened at that they go by what you intended to give the server. Its not their fault if your math is off. The same as if the bill was 23.40 and you left 5.60 but added it up to be 31.00 they would still change it to 29.00 like it should be. I'm not sure if this was the case with you but its always best to check back with the restaurant before you assume the server is stealing. My experience with the golden rooster has always been great. Wonderful service and food.
