YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is a nonprofit, human development organization. It serves more than 3,500 children in nursery, pre-kindergarten and after-school child care programs. The organization offers boxing, martial arts, dance, aerobics and cardio classes. YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit also provides swimming programs that include instruction for pool and boating safety. The organization provides opportunities to participate in several sports activities, such as basketball, soccer, hockey, baseball, tennis and flag football. It organizes summer camps that include field trips, as well as offers child care services. In addition, the organization offers personal training sessions.
