David A. Ellis Elementary School serves more than 200 students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers academic instruction in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school has partnerships with the Bird Street Community Center, the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy and the New England Eye Institute. David A. Ellis Elementary School s students participate in theater productions through the dramatic arts program. It also provides before- and after-school programs, school-based counseling services, and mentoring and literacy coaching. The school organizes readers workshop that includes reading in small groups with the teachers, reading with other students and independent reading. David A.
