Founded in 1949, Lamar Consolidated High School enrolls more than 1,900 students in grades nine through 12. The highs school offers a wide variety of academic and extracurricular activities. It offers various advanced, academic, special education and placement courses. Its academic courses include English, science, social studies, foreign languages, and physical and health education. The school provides a variety of extracurricular activities, such as band, choir, adult civic leadership programs, drill team, athletic booster clubs and a parent-teacher organization. Its library offers a card catalogue facility, large online research database, Internet search engines and evaluation resources. The high school provides a wide variety of sports programs, including basketball, cross country, track, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, swimming, soccer and volleyball. Based in Rosenberg, Texas, the high school is operated by the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District.
