- ChemotherapyHair loss (alopecia), partial or complete, is one of the most common side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. When hair loss occurs, you may decide to choose hair replacement, headwear, or both.
- Radiation TherapyAnti-cancer drugs and radiation therapy can cause partial or complete hair loss (alopecia). Hair loss is considered to be the most physically and emotionally devastating result of cancer therapy by a great majority of patients. Choosing an appropriate wig is often a very difficult decision, because most women, men, and teens have no experience with wearing a wig.
