Established in 1896, McHenry Primary School serves more than 300 students from prekindergarten through grade three. The school has a library media center with more than 25 computers and provides curriculum-related materials and a variety of free reading options for its students. It offers academic classes in various subjects, including reading, writing, spelling and vocabulary, English, math, science, social studies, physical education, language arts and special education. The school offers a wide range of athletic activities, such as basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, softball, baseball, cross country, and track and field. McHenry Primary School is operated by the Floyd County Schools and is located in Rome, Ga.
