I had a TERRIBLE experience with Pfeffer's Catering. We were interested in this catering company for our wedding and set up a tasting met with the young woman in charge (daughter of the former owner) and her head chef. tasting was amazing and the chef prepared us an entire meal for us as we discussed the upcoming event. The food was excellent and we loved working with them so we agreed to book them for our wedding and selected a menu. We were assured that this chef would be the only one preparing food for our wedding. We set the date and paid our deposit.



Months later as the wedding date approached we made a point check in with all of the services we had set up including the caterer. We contacted them about 5 weeks out from the wedding date and to our shock and surprise the young woman and chef that we had tasted with and booked were no longer with the catering company and the current owner (the young woman's father) had not contacted us to let us know of the change. He also seemed unsure of any of the arrangement we had made with his daughter. 5 weeks away put us into a panic. we had to re-establish the menu and were very distraught and worried that the quality would be lesser than the tasting. The owner set up a 2nd tasting for us however upon arrival he seemed unprepared and the menu we tasted this time around was not entirely the menu we had discussed. However now were were 3 weeks out from the wedding and as distraught as we were we felt we had little choice but to believe the re-assurances in front of us and remain with Pfeffer's as our caterer. The owner made promises of our original menu and assured us of all the thing we arranged with his daughter, including taking home leftover food etc. As well as assuring he would be at our wedding the entire time.



THE DAY OF THE WEDDING the catering company did arrive on time and we did see the owner assisting in the set up. However he quickly disappeared and never resurfaced leaving the staff to handle the entire service. The food was good however it was NOT THE MENU DISCUSSED. Portions had been drastically reduced the salad had been changed as well as several other small menu changes that were NOT APPROVED.



As if that had not been enough the service opened and most our our party went throughout the line for a plate while some others remained int he reception all to mingle and visit before eating. As soon as the line thinned down t Pfeffer's SHUT THE DOOR and closed down food service. They did NO LAST CALL and did not allow our guests to go through a 2nd time. Pfeffer's immediately started toting leftovers out to their van and did not provide us with remaining plates as promised.



after the wedding SEVERAL of our guests approached us and told us that they did not get a chance to eat because the food service shut down so quickly. including our wedding officiant.



We contacted the owner shortly after the wedding to express our disappointment and he made little to no effort to come to a resolution. In fact he changed his story several time regarding our menu, its changes and almost everything he promised us. Ultimately he just IGNORED us and nothing happened to resolve this issue and he made not effort to contact us for a resolution.



We felt that the entire interaction with the current owner of Pfeffer's Catering was very unprofessional and we should have been contacted sooner of the changes to the staff as well and have been contacted sooner after voicing our discrepancies.



It was a TERRIBLE experience and i would NOT recommend Pfeffer's Catering for your event.
