      Dr. Aimee Herring has 14 years of experience counseling individuals in private practice, inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse programs, in rehabilitation and nursing home facilities, and in pain management. She has led groups for women and young girls who were survivors of sexual abuse. In her private practice she counsels individuals, couples and families in relationship issues, mood disorders, abuse issues, grief and school issues. Dr. Herring has experience with children as young as 5 and adults up into their 90s. Dr. Herring has also had 14 years of experience in the public school system in the area of special education. She has helped parents of special needs children obtain the services they need in the public school system. She is also familiar with helping disabled adults obtain the necessary services to obtain and keep employment. Dr. Herring believes that good mental health comes from psychotherapy, possibly medications, and behavior change. Mental and physical health are intertwined and it is important to maintain both in order to live life to its fullest.
