Founded by library professionals, Library Systems & Services is one of the premier providers of library management services. Since its establishment in 1981, LSSI has provided more efficient and effective ways to manage new and existing library operations. LSSI contributes to libraries serving local communities, schools, colleges, corporations and the federal government. LSSI was one of the first to use minicomputers for library cataloging, master library data on optical disk, use and understand the impact of CD-ROM technology and develop and deploy library kiosks for remote access to library collections and services. LSSI was also one to lead the development and implementation of one of the first live, real-time reference services via the Internet. The contract services offered to libraries include the performance of highly specific tasks, such as automation support, technical services, data entry, reference services and consulting.
