Family Practice and Sports Medicine! Thank you for choosing our group as your Primary Care Physicians. Each of our doctors shares in the philosophy of addressing your individual needs and providing you with quality health care. We place an emphasis on your health and wellness. Dr. Harris is board certified in Family Practice. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at U.C. Davis where he was an All American in track. Dr. Harris received his medical degree from U.C. San Francisco and served his three-year internship / residency at Mercy Medical Center in Denver, CO with some time spent as Chief Resident. Since coming to Rocklin in 1988, Dr. Harris has served on many committees at Sutter Roseville Medical Center including Chairman of the Family Practice Department. Dr. Harris resides in Rocklin with his wife and children. He is active in his church and in the community by supporting youth sports and has served many years as a team physician for Rocklin High School. Nurse Practitioner Ami Khasakia Ami Khasakia is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Samuel Merritt University in 2014. Ami earned her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from CSU Sacramento in 2005. Post-graduation, Ami worked as a biologist for a company manufacturing diagnostic products for cancer and infectious diseases for four years. Prior to this, Ami studied in a Physical Therapy program in India. Having a diverse patient care background, Ami enjoys working with people and finds it extremely rewarding to have a career that allows her to assist and educate communities in need. During her nursing program, Ami had the opportunity to work with the under-served communities of inner-city Sacramento. Ami is a strong believer of culturally competent care. She is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati and also understands Punjabi. She has lived in Rocklin for 7 years. Ami is an active member of California Association for Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, as well as American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and friends.
