  we are professional "dog people". we own, train and breed our own line of golden retrievers, who live with us in our home. we show our dogs in the conformation breed ring, and we compete in obedience and agility trials.

• Grooming
  we space appointments out so your pet needn't spend a long time waiting, only to have to stay here for the whole day. instead, you will meet your groomer when you arrive, and you will get the chance to describe to her exactly how you want the cut to look. our complete grooms are normally finished within three to four hours.

• Obedience
  we will now have regular tests for the akc's canine good citizen award here at barkingham! the cgc (often required to qualify as a therapy dog) is a measure of the sociability of your pet. our obedience courses cover what you and your dog need to pass this test. please call or inquire at our front desk, if you are interested.

• Agility
  from the akc website: "in an agility trial, dog and handler work together as a team combining athletic ability and training to negotiate a course of obstacles within a prescribed time period. as the dogs negotiate the course they must constantly be alert to the verbal cues and body language of their handlers."

• For Cats
  barkingham palace's owners and staff have years of experience caring for and loving cats. our cattery was designed from the start to be a comfortable, sunny and friendly place for your cat while you are away. we've even included an aquarium in the cattery for them to dream about!
