The Region's Leader In Cancer Care Since 1995, experience, dedication and caring are the three words most associated with the Center for Cancer Care at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. The Center for Cancer Care is the region's leading provider of cancer care and hope. The Center for Cancer Care houses almost all outpatient cancer services in one area so cancer patients and their loved ones do not have to endure the emotional and physical stress of making multiple office visits to several locations. OSF Saint Anthony was the first healthcare provider in the Rockford area to provide our patients high-dose rate brachytherapy, which uses radiation internally to attack tumors, prostate seed implants, as well as genetic risk assessment programs for breast and colon cancer. The physicians, nurses, medical technicians and other healthcare staff at the Center for Cancer Care are some of the best in oncology care. They are talented, skilled, hard working and knowledgeable professionals dedicated to providing world-class medical care, as well as the emotional and spiritual support needed to defeat cancer. Regular Hours“Loosen Up,” a 30-minute full-body session designed to release muscle tension through stretching and flexibility movements, will be offered from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Loosen Up is also held from 4:30 to 5 p.m. on Fridays. Senior Aerobics classes for those ages 50 or better are held from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Circuit Training, a 45-minute class that combines cardio and strength training for a total body workout, is offered from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. It is also held from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Saturdays. Middle Management, a hard-core strengthening session that concentrates on the torso to strengthen the abdomen and back, is offered from 5:20 to 5:35 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays. “Golden Motion” classes, a conditioning fitness program for those age 50 or better, are held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first part of the class offers individual gym time, and the second part is an instructor-led class. Golden Motion classes are designed to increase endurance, strength, balance and flexibility. Firm Commitment, a 30-minute class for those who wish to tighten and tone their bodies, is held from 4:45 to 5:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
