Albany International, founded in 1895, is one of the largest producers of custom-designed engineered fabrics known as paper machine clothing worldwide. These consumable fabrics are used to manufacture various grades of paper from lightweight paper to heavyweight containerboard. The company produces composite structures for the aerospace industry, belting for corrugator and tannery applications, and filtration products for alumina and power generation requirements. It also manufactures specialty fabrics for nonwovens, pulp and fiber cement manufacturers, and PrimaLoft patented synthetic down insulation for the technical outerwear and home furnishings markets. Albany International trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol AIN, and is headquartered in Albany, N.Y.
