About Allegro Mission Statement: To provide quality dance and music education for students of all ages while encouraging a lifelong love of the art forms. Allegro School of Dance was founded in 1989 by Janet M. Johnson with the philosophy that dance as an art form can be a rewarding and valued life experience for both serious and recreational students. Instruction is offered in classical ballet and pointework, tap, modern, jazz, and lyrical as well as creative movement classes for the young student. Adult classes are also available for exercise and dance appreciation. Music instruction was added in October 2006 as a natural progression of the art forms. Dance training can instill a sense of poise, confidence, and musicality that will last a dance student's entire life. The training will physically condition bodies and stimulate minds with the complexity of the art form. Whether studying dance once a week for enjoyment or committing to serious daily study, dance is a positive rewarding experience.
