This place is what Cracker Barrel wish it was.

Yesterday after service we decided to eat at Fred's Market. I must say the food was EXCELLENT, the waiter IAN was awesome. I try to meet with the manager of an establishment to let them know good things and not just bad experiences. "VICKI", the MANAGER wasn't personable at all she looked as if she was bothered to hear a compliment rather than a complaint. Smile a bit "VICKI" and personable with the patrons. Kimberly

To the person saying they were insulted by the waiter explaining about their Waste Not Want Not program, you misunderstood the advantages . ALL patrons can take advantage of the program by not loading up their plates with more than they can eat AND you save about $1.50 per person. I applaude Freds for this program . Read the menu & you' 'll see. Have you been in a buffet line & seen how some people load their plates so high you wonder how the food stays on the plate? Well let them pay more as they are so wasteful! BTW,I'm 72. Fred's is wonderful!

Collard Greens, Mac n Cheese, Corn Souffle, Sweet potatoes, Fried Chicken - Well this was my second time visiting this place (On a Sunday) and I have to say the fist time was very good (On a Monday). I tasted a number of things on the Buffet, just so I can get an idea of what I liked. I was not impressed the second time around. I noticed the inconsistency in the cooking and seasoning of the food. The things that I loved on the first trip, quickly turned into things I hated on the second trip......Hopefully, they will turn things around. It's a new location and is always PACKED...

My husband and I eagerly awaited the opening of your restaurant since we read about it back in June. We went a couple of weeks ago and since I am 72 and my husband is 76 we got the senior discount. Imagine how shocked I was went the waitress proclaimed since we were getting a discount, to not pile our plates full and eat everything on our plates. I was never so insulted in my life. I will never go back there again and will tell others not to also.

I'm originally from Plant City, FL and have eaten at Fred's over the years. I ate at the Fred's in Riverview recently. It is a welcome addition to the landscape of Riverview. For real country cuisine, everyone should eat there at least once in their lifetime. It doesn't get any better than this.

Tonight I had the pleasure of taking my grandchildren to Freds Market. It was a journey back To my Mother's and Grandmother's kitchen. The absolute best southern cooking I have eaten in 20 years. All my grandchildren enjoyed their dinner...a first to be sure. Every table was full. We only waited about 15 minutes. I would wait an hour if needed. When we left there was forty or so waiting. this is the best Restaurant we have eaten at in the tampa area in the 15 years we have lived here.
