      General Info
      County of Riverside operates various departments and agencies, such as fire, transportation, waste management, building and safety, and public and environmental health departments. It also operates various government agencies, such as the economic development agency. Its environmental health department is comprised of various divisions, such as district environmental service, environmental resource and hazardous materials management. Its district environmental service division has regulatory control over all food and restaurant-based programs. Additionally, the division conducts inspections at public swimming pools and spas, utility facilities, apartments, condominiums, hotels and motels to check compliance with health and environmental safety standards. The Economic Development Agency offers a variety of affordable housing options to low- and moderate-income households. The agency also provides financial assistance to various businesses through procurement of loans at subsidized interest rates for expansion and relocation processes. The county is located in Riverside, Calif.
