the atmosphere service and food were absolutely the best Japanese food that i have had since returning from Japan ... the presentation was delightful ... my friend and i both selected boxes and gyoza and were not disappointed in the choices ... we have moved it to our favorite japanese restaurant in the area

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. We've been there 3 times, loved everything we've had. The Sesame Chicken is wonderful and I get 3 meals out of it. I had a sampler box the first time and that was very good but a lot of food. My dh usually has the salmon and that's been great. Great bar, though small. And they should serve some little munchies at the bar, like nuts or the little spicy rice snacks.

My husband and I decided to try Ooka one night. We won't be going back. They had a 1/2 full dining room and told us the wait was still 10 - 15 minutes. When we finally sat down our waitress was very nice and helpful. However it took her almost 10 minutes to even acknowledge that we had sat down. Once she took our order she was very good at checking back with us and refilling our drinks. But, the kicker of the night is that I ordered sushi and my husband ordered a fully cooked steak. He got his food very quickly and had completely finished eating before the waitress even realized that I had not gotten my food. So then he sat and watched me eat which is not very comfortable or enjoyable. Ooka could be a decent restaurant if they just fixed a few timing issues.
