The NINOS Head Start Program includes child care and developmentally appropriate activities for children up to the age of 4. It serves individuals and families in Cameron and Willacy counties in Texas. The program emphasizes educational, nutritional and dental care services. It also includes health care, transition and special care services. The NINOS Head Start Program offers services for families that meet the federal income guidelines based on poverty data. Operated by Neighbors In Need Of Services, it focuses on the development of physical, intellectual and mental health, as well as meting the dietary needs of children. Additionally, the program is selected several times to participate in a statewide research project that is funded by the Texas Education Agency.
