I walked in to open a no fee checking account account to use in the next few months so I would have checks printed and debit cards ready etc. My checks came, debit card came and was tested in a few weeks. I walked in a today to make a large deposit and they told me my account was closed and they took all my money for service charges. Now I owed them $57.00 dollars and they were reporting it to my credit file. I was never so pissed in my life. The branch manager said she could do nothing about it. I called a manager in Boston and they had their answering machine pick up. Before you consider this bank. Keep in mind they will take money out of your account without informing you, until your balance goes negative. They will then close your account and continue applying fees and charges to the closed account. They will report it to the credit agencies. ALL WITHOUT YOU EVER KNOWING.
