Established in 1968, Harwood Elementary School is a learning center that provides a variety of educational opportunities to students in kindergarten through grade four. It maintains a staff of more than 40 teachers and has an enrollment of over 600 students. The school offers guidance counseling, food and transportation services. Harwood Elementary School administers the English as a Second Language and Title I program. It operates a library and provides speech therapy services. The school maintains a parent-teacher organization that serves as a resource for students, parents and staff. Harwood Elementary School is a part of Jefferson School District 251, which operates high, middle and elementary schools.
