Established in 1999, The Faison School is a nonprofit learning center that provides various educational and treatment programs for individuals under the age of 22 with autism-related disorders. It administers a preschool program that includes evidence-based instructions and extracurricular activities for children between the ages of 2 and 5. The center organizes several summer programs for school-age children. The Faison School also provides off-site services for families and children with developmental disabilities in their homes. Additionally, it offers a variety of vocational training classes for individuals. The center is affiliated with the Virginia Commonwealth University s Department of Psychiatry, which is a research center for developmental disabilities. The Faison School is located in Richmond, Va.
