I just unfinished a job with this company. Waited two weeks job still not finished. Owner Dan said he will refund money for work not completed. Doesn't help when you have a client waiting but individual shows up completes part of job then leaves. Would not recommend them at all.

I have had terrible experience with this Dallas Door and Window and had to hire another company to correct structural issues caused by Dallas Door and Window. I that hope nobody will repeat my mistake and hire this company. If you are considering Dallas Door and Window I suggest that you first check BBB report, especially number of complains logged by the BBB. Keep in mind that that is just tip of the iceberg and that there are many other unhappy people that didn't want to go though a trouble of filing a BBB complaint.

As I write this review I have been unable to have two questions resolved.



#1 I have asked Dallas Door and Window 4 times for an itemized invoice after I amended the original quote to delete the install of a new storm door. My conversations with the proprietor have been pleasant enough but no action. The work was done 6 1/2 weeks ago.



#2 Dallas Door and Window appears to have overcharged me, but with out an invoice, the company cannot defend itself from this accusation.



They showed up without an advance call, which the proprietor said they would do, to install my front door. Thankfully I was there. Communication could be better with this company.



Their prices are no better than Lowe's or Home Depot but I was able to get an onsite quote within 30 mins after my call.



You can go to their showroom but it's by appointment only. Given my experience I probably wouldn't use them again or recommend them to anyone else.



They did a good job of installing my solid wood front door.



UPDATE 6/23/2009



The company responded to my BBB complaint by saying that they told me the special order storm door, the same standard door Lowes and Home Depot sells, was non-refundable. Not true. No discussion of cancellation or refunding was had since I did not intend to cancel the installation at the time the company installed the solid wood front door. The storm door was supposed to be installed then but was not available. Also the fact that the storm door was nonrefundable was not printed on the quoted estimate. The storm door only became non-refundable when I declined delivery and I started asking about the difference in what they charged versus what I expected. They also claimed I ordered the door 13 days before I actually did. They are poor in customer service after the fact and still have not provided an invoice so I can get reimbursed by my insurance company.
