The Los Angeles Jewish Homes for the Aging, established in 1912, is a nursing and convalescent care campus featuring more than 15 acres of lawns and gardens with commissioned sculptures and artwork. Each campus has a medical clinic, staffed by a team of physicians and nurse practitioners certified in geriatric medicine for medical care. Its skilled nursing care staff services include rehabilitative therapies, exercise classes, activity programs and social services. The organization also provides specialized programs to residents suffering from Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Its Ida Kayne Transitional Care Unit provides short-term specialized rehabilitative services for seniors recovering from surgery, stroke and other illnesses and injuries. Its rabbinical staff offers spiritual counseling and educational classes, as well as conduct regular religious services and the celebration and observance of all Jewish holidays.
