Founded in 1954 as a small construction firm, Chief Industries has grown to become a dealer for farm buildings and grain bins. The company, headquartered in Grand Island, Neb., is a multiproduct manufacturer. It produces and markets grain storage, handles and conditions products, and also provides pre-engineered metal farm utility, and post-frame and commercial building systems. The company provides custom steel fabrication, factory-built housing, wastewater treatment systems, electronic display systems, security doors, windows and related furniture, intermodal equipment, and railroad boxcar doors. The company has a common carrier subsidiary, two construction divisions and three manufactured housing retail lots. Its manufacturing and distribution facilities are located in Grand Island, Aurora, Kearney, Hastings, York, Omaha, Ogallala, Neb., Rensselaer, Ind., Fort Dodge, Iowa, Kansas City, Mo., Janesville, Wis., Russell, Kan., and Aurora, Colo.
