The Redondo Beach Police Department-Adult Investigations Section employs various detectives who investigate violent crime, sexual offense and property crime for adult suspects. It maintains a crimes against persons unit that undertakes several crimes, including homicide, armed robbery, suicide and adult searches. The section also has a crimes against property unit that performs functions related to auto theft, fraud and burglary. Located in Redondo Beach, Calif., the Redondo Beach Police Department operates a citizens police academy that provides training programs related to laws, firearms instruction, defensive tactics and first aid. In addition, the police department maintains patrol, animal control, parking enforcement and administrative service divisions, as well as a support services bureau.
