      BARTA, also known as, the Berks Area Reading Transportation Authority is a transportation system that provides fixed-route and special bus services. Founded in 1973, it offers public transportation services in the city of Reading and Berks County in Pennsylvania. The authority provides Call-a-Lift and half fare programs. BARTA s special services division offer door-to-door transportation services. In addition, it operates Park-N-Ride lots that are served by BARTA s fixed-route system. The company also has a transportation center and partnership with East Penn Manufacturing. BARTA has achieved ADA certification.
