Located in Rapid City, S.D., West Middle School offers a variety of academic programs in language arts, mathematics, sciences, social science and economics to students in grades six through eight. The school offers various special education services, including individualized specially designed instruction in academic, self-help and communication, motor, vocational and social skill areas. Its instructional and support services are delivered by special education teachers, school psychologists, speech language pathologists, physical and occupational therapists, interpreters and mobility specialist. The school also offers classes in technology and family and consumer science programs. The school s library provides resources, such as books, journals and magazines and Internet access. Its athletics department offers various sports activities, including tennis, football, soccer, basketball, golf and baseball. West Middle School is owned and operated by the Rapid City Area School District.
