The Street Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for the planning, coordination and direction of operations. It undertakes snow, leaf, brush and ice removal, shoulder repair, pothole patching and street sweeping services, as well as maintains safety and health standards. The division also handles the installation and maintenance of traffic and street name signs. The Public Works Department works under the government of Rantoul, Ill., and operates electric, gas, systems maintenance, waste water and water divisions.
