      Founded in 1978, E. Brooks Wilkins Family Medicine is a primary care physician group that has served more than 10,000 patients since its establishment. It provides routine health care checkup services for infants, children, adolescents, adults and senior citizens. The group also offers noninvasive cardiovascular testing, immunization, asthma and diabetes management, and cancer and cholesterol and hypertension screening and management services. E. Brooks Wilkins Family Medicine performs various surgical procedures for the removal of minor lumps and bumps, including moles and sebaceous cysts, as well as conducts gynecological evaluation and Pap smear tests. In addition, it maintains a specialized treatment center that focuses on the prevention and treatment of overweight and obese individuals. The group maintains a kitchen and fitness and exercise center that occupies an area of more than 2,500 square feet. E. Brooks Wilkins Family Medicine conducts weekly cooking classes in its kitchen. Located in Raleigh, N.C., it accepts various insurance plans from Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Partners National Health Plan, CIGNA and Mid Atlantic Medical Services.
