My review should really have NO STARS, but theres no option for that! I spent $180 at CCF getting Senegalese twist and it lasted only 4 days. I called the owner, Grace, and asked that my hair be repaired but looked totally messy and wanted someone else to repair the hair because the braider did not meet standard, I was told there is no refund and that only the same braider who was responsible for the rushed mess that still took 8 hours by the way will be the only one who will fix it, I was outraged! What professional does twist that last 4 days? No, customers do not come first! I didnt want any money, I wanted my hair to be right! $180 for 4 days wear is absurd! Buyer beware! NEVER AGAIN!!!!

This is my first time coming here and I love it... Whenever I go to a new shop I always look at reviews.. I agree with all the reviews except the one from upset former employee.. Ms. Grace is a sweetheart, I had to reschedule my original appt, she was more than willing to accommodate... This place is clean and the environment is calm. I will definitely be coming back... And just a tip for future clients, you will be happy when you leave!!!

I am a first time customer of Customers Come First African Braids Inc. Grace and her staff are great. I took my daughter at 10:30 a.m. and she was done by 1:30 p.m.(Box Braids). Her hair was beautiful! The price was very reasonable and the customer service is wonderful. I will definitely be returning.

Grace is a wonderful stylist and knowledgeable individual! My hair has never lasted so long in braids and I have gotten so many compliments! For someone who only wanted their hair braided while on vacation, I believe the style that Grace gave me will be around for a little while longer. Yes Grace you were correct - I am coming back again to keep the style. Marie B.

I had a hint that this braiding experience was going to be different as soon as I spoke with Grace - personable, knowledgeable and patient - I had to call a few times 'cause I got lost :-)

Things just got better from there: super professional, great energy in her shop, was able to braid (micro) my short hair, blew it out first so it wouldn't hurt as much, good parting technique so hair falls to frame my face perfectly. I could go on but you get the picture. I didn't price shop because I go for the experience & end result, not lowest price. CCFAB is now my go-to place! Thanks Grace & Ruth! See you soon.

I have been to ccf twice and loved my hair. One shop I been to before I found ccf took nine hours to do my braids and I had four people work on my head.It took less time at ccf and it was just one person

Well let me start off by saying I made a last minute appointment and was very appreciative of the short notice and understanding to the crazy morning I had the day of my appointment. I was told $178 would be the total cost for Senegalese twists the hair being $14 which I only had 170 with me. So I chose yarn twists thinking they would be cute also and I could afford them since they were $140 on her pricing chart, well after discussing my choice of style she said my price would be $170 with yarn included.???? I thought a ball of yarn was cheep as hell and didn't expect to pay $30 extra for string. Anyway I got my hair done about one week ago in yarn twists and loved how they looked, great job... Until the very next day when 5 twists began coming apart. So I went back that afternoon to have those fixed, no big deal. But here I am one week later and another 7 have come undone. Clearly I can't go back since Im in Virginia and was only there for the wknd. After paying $170 I thought for sure I could wear these through the summer, I did not anticipate having to find someone to take this mess out my head and braid it all over again so soon, Im pretty good with upkeep of my hair when I get it done. So as far as environment goes, great place it's clean not loud and everyone is nice. Finished product initially looks great, but the quality of work is a hot mess. I will not be going back nor will I ever recommend anyone to go here. Definitly did get what I paid for!!

A++++

This salon does A++++ work! Grace just got finish doing my hair and I remember why she is the only one that I go to when I need to get my hair braided. She is very professional, creative, and talented. You can tell that she has a passion for her business and the work that she does. I can always count on her salon to be kept very clean and professionally maintained. By far the best braiding salon I have been in.

Fast, friendly and inviting environment. Grace is Awesome!!!! She gave me the most beautiful kinky twist I have ever seen. Most importantly, I am headache FREE!!!! -- My head isn't sore either. Also it only took her 4 hours to complete the kinky twist. The entire experience was well worth the 2 hour drive. I will definitely be a repeat customer. All the positive reviews I read prior to my appointment were right on-point with the actual experience I had. Completely Satisfied Customer. --- Thanks Grace

Pro: Fast, Friendly and professional!! Grace was amazing she did a awesome job offered me a glass of wine and plenty of laughs. Honestly i had ZERO pain i slept find last night which honestly is the best thing everywhere else they braid so damn tight and i can't sleep at night so this was by far the best experience.

Con: The only thing i can complain abt is the fact that my hair i purchased myself got pulled apart when i wanted it to be more wavy so hopeful this doesn't be come a tangled matted mess!! But besides this no cons.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BRAIDING SHOP!!! AWESOME!! AWESOME!! AWESOME!!:))))

THE WORST PLACE !

The worse place to get any braids. I was there from 9:30, then Grace told me to come back at 10:00. The workers told me that my hair would be 180, thry don't say on the website that the hair costs $4.00 a pack. So my total was around $175 , Grace comes at 10:30 and says to charge me $75.00 more because I have thick hair. Which again is not stated on the website so I paid $253 for senegalese twist. 3 people start working on my head and tells my mom it would take to 6, I was there until 9:00 at night. Grace kept leaving her customers. She was really rude. Some of my twist are krinkled and not straight. At the end of the night 2 people were doing my hair and they started to rush. I come back a week later and a twist slides off. It's been 2 weeks and it looks like its time to take them off already. It's ridiculous, unprofessional and a pure mess.

I LOVE IT! Exceptional African...

I LOVE IT! Exceptional African Braiding Salon!

I've been to CCFA Braiding Salon twice, and both times I was extremely satisfied.

My first time ever getting African braids, I went to CCFAB and I was very happy with the outcome without a doubt I was coming back, to get my hair braided again. And of course I came back!

I got Senegalese twist, and my hair was braided by the very own Ms. Grace. Herself as well as her workers are amazing braiders. I love the ending product as well as the customer service provided.

When I got the Senegalese twist (my second visit) I at first got them with the ends straight. I called Ms. Grace up and asked if I could have my braids re-set and curled. With no hesitation Ms. Grace agreed to have me come in the next day.

I loved the curls she put in my hair, and the sweet, friendly, welcoming customer service provided. Ms. Grace and her team are truly uniquely different from any other African Braiding Salons and stay true to their word: customers really do come first!

CCFAB practices unfair and dec...

CCFAB practices unfair and deceptive trade practices. According to their website they offer free hair with most of their sytles and free braid take-outs. Be aware that CCFAB does not offer free hair with any of their styles honor and if you're new to braids you will end up going somewhere else to have the braids removed properly after they take then out. I will NEVER do business with them again.

Owner, Ms. Grace scheduled me ...

Owner, Ms. Grace scheduled me three weeks prior and quoted me a decent price + free hair take down + told me to print off the military discount coupon to save me more $ and to bring it in. When I arrived the salon was dark and closed. I waited 30 minutes in the parking lot calling her. No answer. Yet her employee showed up and called her; right away she answered. The employee told her that a client (me) was waiting outside with her trying to get into the salon. I talked to Grace who suddenly didn't know who I was or anything about my appt. She informed me that since she was still at home I needed to drive to the other location to get my braids done. So, I did. When I arrived, the Braider called Grace. At this time, Grace denied everything that she promised me about the price and services. She now wanted me to pay $70 MORE than what she quoted me when I made the appt in addition to now refusing to honor the military coupon (that I had in hand) and refused to honor the other written "free" services listed on her website, which I also had a copy of in hand. She is dishonest, not to be trusted, unprofessional and a con-artist!! Stay away!!! This lady is greedy and has bad character. But, the two Braiders did an AWESOME job but I refused to be cheated by Grace. I will not return and have reported her to the BBB and licensing board. Oh, and all those perfect reviews on her website and other sites were done by her friends or clearly paid for as will be very evident to you if you encounter this establishment.

I have had my hair done at oth...

I have had my hair done at other African shops before but this was a far more better experience then any other shop that I have gone to. Grace believes in being honest about your hair and making sure that it is done right. She also provides a book on different sizes and prices so you know what you are paying for. She even takes time to style your hair and show you how to do as well and not try to rush thru getting you done to get your money. Thank you Grace and I will definitely be back!
