Absolutely liked this place!!! My daughter had so much fun!!!! as soon as we left and was in daddys shoulders she was falling asleep!!! The place is awesome, I especially appreciate that 1. no matter how much mess there is tons of staff there to clean it up....and 2. that the staff is super amazing with my daughter!!! my daughter was not at all shy to say hello or talk !!! and I love that there is an infant zone in most of them!!!! very convenient and it excites me to bring my baby in November that even my infant can enjoy!

Went here today with our 4 year old and 6 month old and had a great day of hands on activities and learning through play. This is definitely something Toronto needs, our older daughter took part in all the scheduled activities and had a great time and it was so nice to have the play mat areas with mirrors for infants in every room, as it allowed both parents to watch the fun both children were having without either of us being left out. It can be pricey, however it was was worth it the staff were friendly and attentive and always giving advice. Considering how busy it can get it was very clean and staff could be seen always restocking paper, craft supplies, sorting and cleaning toys. Everything is child friendly from lots of high chairs, stools in the bathroom and a comfy nursing room. So sad it ends on the end of the year but will definitely support the building of a permanent centre.

My 7 month old had a fantastic time playing music and painting! Looking forward to going back and exploring more areas! It was clean with lots of bathrooms and places to take an overwhelmed infant for a few minutes of downtime. Can't say enough wonderful things about the staff. They were actively helpful and friendly. Really engaged with the kids and were generally lovely! I seriously love this place! If you have an infant don't worry - there is plenty to do outside the specific infant area!

Today my 3 year old was pretending to ride the Go Train. When I asked him where he was going he said the Children's Discovery Centre.

A group of us were planning our second visit on Monday, and are saddened to see that you had to close during the week. Wishing you all the best and look forward to receiving news about your future!

All looking great! Happiness all around What a bittersweet feeling first day of school for our little ones, but knowing how happy they are in this great facility allows me to feel that it was a great decision. Thank you CDC and congrats once again.

I cannot express in words how thankful I am to have the children's discovery Center for my sweet boy who is nine months old. The teachers are amazing and the facility itself is perfect! So calm and so peaceful and gives me such a piece of mind. All the teachers work so hard to keep you and your baby on your same schedule. We had a very easy week transitioning from staying at home to full-time childcare. Do yourself a favor and send your children to the discovery center!!!

My daughter has attended CDC since she was 2 years old. She is now 4 and is a minority as am I her mother. My daughter is introverted and stubborn child at times, however, she loves her school and loves the structure it gives her. Aside from the normal scratches and bruises during outside play, she has always been healthy and happy there. All my concerns have always been addressed. No preschool or daycare setting will ever be as good as being able to stay at home, but for a good preschool education plus a place one feels good about leaving your child in, CDC is as good as it gets for normal working parents. Thanks.

We've been CDC parents for 3 years now and love it. I wish they had a north campus because we have since moved much farther away, but the kiddo loves it so much I couldn't ever think of pulling him out for the sake of convenience.

The teachers are exceptional. As another poster said, the holidays they have can be frustrating for two-working-parent or single-parent households, but usually one of the teachers will set up a little informal camp or something. And every single teacher there deserves holiday pay and some time off. I don't even understand how they can be so great and patient and fun all the time.

A few years ago we did have an issue with a teacher that was always late, making the parents late for work. It was a big problem. After a few complaints, she was either fired or moved on and for the last 2 years there has not been one single problem.

The school itself is more laid-back, hippie style than the intensely clean and organized Montessori centers you see. The toys are well-loved. There is paint all over the fence. A favorite activity is playing in mud. MY child comes home happy, tired and dirty. I'm used to it now and would not have it any other way.

They believe in play-based, child-led learning. No academics, no pushing reading or math, etc. But when a child has a question, they explore the answer hands on, focusing on 'discovery'. This method is not for every parent or every child. It works great for us. Growing up is hard enough, getting to be a kid when you are a kid and develop a sense of curiosity is important.

I feel the price is average for central, center-based care and a great deal when you consider the caliber of employees.

First of all, I want to state that CDC is not right for every child and that is perfectly fine. My 2 yo has attended the Children's Discovery Center for 6 months and she is excited to go to "scoo" every single day. She even asks to go on the weekends.

The place would not be the same without the teachers! Every single one is a gem and can always be found at kid level, sitting on the ground, laps full of kids. It is so obvious that each one is there because they enjoy it and not just for the paycheck. They are patient and creative and involved every step of the way.

The "curriculum" is appropriate for a bunch of 1 - 3 year olds. It's stated much more eloquently on their website, but the kiddo's are given all the freedom to be creative, explore and encourage their innate curiosities. Children grow at such amazingly different speeds and take to such various skill sets, that I personally don't see the benefit to the child in anything "standardized".

Not too pricey compared to most full time centers and certainly not for the benefits she gets from attending, but high for our working budget. However, the director, Rosalind has been AMAZING and has helped in finding assistance and with working with us on payments. We will be a Discovery School for as long as we can possibly manage it!
