This photographer seemed be a ...

This photographer seemed be a professional and affordable, but unfortunately it become very apparent that he was not. Doug was not prepared and lacked organization skills and experience at doing weddings.
When I asked him to take photos of my out of state family, he became angry/stressed and said that he was having problems right now with his camera and walked away from me. I was embarrassed and further embarrassed as an alarm on his equipment went off and put a stop to my wedding music. Doug did apologized later on, but I never got those once in a life time photos of my family.
Things will go wrong for anyone and not all can go perfectly and that’s how I thought about it, until I saw the photos he took or didn’t take.
Doug put “Grand Illusion” on most of the 100 print I paid for and the ones he didn’t the feet and part of the heads were cut off. The photos were photo shopped to death and the teeth looked wooden and men had eye liner/blush. Pictures not centered and gaps between people. I think the worst part is the lack of portraits of my family. I have about 95% of just unfavorable candid shoot and very poor wedding portraits.
I made a mass plea to all who attend my wedding for any pictures that they could forward to me and I had a great response, but I feel sorry for any bride that went with Grand Illusion and didn’t get so lucky.
Tips for new Brides: Don’t try to do everything yourself. Do your homework, try to get a referral from a trusted friend or family member, and above all else don’t ignore your gut instinct! Also, after your Wedding leave reviews (good or bad) to help other on this once in a life time journey.
