National Association of Government Employees, established in 1961, is a national union that has been working for the protection of rights and improvement of working conditions for members, including federal and state employees, police and correctional officers, and paramedics. The various benefits offered to the members include scholarship and insurance programs, and money and credit benefits. Its Web site offers information on work rights, dispute settlement, grievances and arbitration. The association also has a subsidiary, NAGE Housing that provides affordable residential opportunities to members. National Association of Government Employees is located in Quincy, Mass.
