Move at YOUR Pace: As we know, everyone learns at a different pace. When in a classroom, the teacher aims to challenge the highest level student, while not leaving anyone behind in the meantime. In a private setting, the pace is established just for them. If the dancer is working on a specific skill and has not mastered it yet, there is no need to move on for the rest of the class, we can stop and master that skill at their pace. That way, the student can focus on where THEY are in their training. This is important because it helps to not develop bad habits when training for steps or tricks you are not ready for. Personalized Class Structure: This is important when it comes to ability level. If a dancer is struggling or even excelling, it is vital that they work to either catch up their technique or move on to continue to challenge themselves. In a one on one setting the dancer can work on their specific goals with the teacher for maximum benefit. Solo Choreography: Many times, private lesson are a gateway to work on a solo dance for performance or competition. This is usually optional but can be a great opportunity for dancers to work on their performance quality. There is usually a choreography fee for this as well.
