The Parks and Recreation Department operates under the government of the town of Queen Creek, Ariz., which also operates fire, finance, human resources, information technology, library and school departments. The department organizes sports leagues for youths and adults, field trips, day camps, special events and instructional classes. Its facilities include a library and community and youth centers. It organizes sports and athletic activities, including basketball, volleyball, golf, soccer, softball and fishing. The Parks and Recreation Department operates a housing rehabilitation program that provides financial assistance to low- and moderate-income individuals. The department also maintains dance, skate and pool clubs.
