Located in Puyallup, Wash., Chief Leschi School is an educational institution that enrolls more than 700 students. It is a tribal school operated by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians and provides educational classes to Native Americans. The institution is an over 200,000-square-foot facility that houses students belonging to approximately 90 different tribes. Chief Leschi School offers learning sessions in teen parenting, culinary arts, and family health and consumer science to children in pre-kindergarten though grade 12. It also conducts special interest classes in music, band, choir, physical education, drum and dance, and video television and digital multimedia. In addition, the institution provides classes in math and literacy, computer applications and writing, and reading and language arts. Chief Leschi School additionally offers several sports activities, including football, volleyball, baseball, basketball, wrestling and fast-pitch.
