I am an 85-year old retired WSU Professor. On Sept. 1 I saw Dr. Torrey who was a temporary replacement for my regular dentist, Dr. Brubaker, for treatment of a tooth infection. We discussed antibiotic treatment and I told him I had 2 tablets of amoxycillin left from a treatment the previous June for the same infection; he derisively scolded me for having any antibiotic left as it should have been used up during the entire course of treatment. He then prescribed more amoxycillin which was then changed 2 days later to clindomycin by my local physician after 1 visit to the emergency hospital, 2 visits to urgent care, and 2 visits to to my local doctors clinic over Labor Day weekend with a serious tooth infection. In my encounter with Dr. Torrey on the Sept. 1 he also had x-rays taken of the infected tooth and prescribed a root canal as a "no brainer" solution to my troubles. Dr. Clegg a local endodonist disagreed. I have just had the tooth removed in Spokane. Bruce M
