The Mount Pleasant Academy, also known as MPA, is a day treatment facility for children suffering from various emotional, behavioral and psychiatric problems. The academy offers educational and mental health services for more than 30 children between the ages of 4 and 12 from Rhode Island. It provides sensory integration, occupations, speech, language and music therapies. The Mount Pleasant Academy also provides psychiatric and nursing care services and operates a 45-day summer program. The academy is a private alternative school that serves lunch and breakfast. The Mount Pleasant Academy, operational since 2001, is a part of the Family Service of Rhode Island.
