International Institute Rhode Island, founded in 1921, is an independent nonprofit organization providing educational, legal and social services to immigrants and refugees throughout Rhode Island. It also provides interpreting and translating services and training programs to local businesses, health care providers, lawyers, government agencies, social service providers, academic organizations and individuals. In addition, the organization offers services, including citizenship and immigration, employment assistance, minority health program and refugee resettlement. Its education and training services include English as a second language program, work training certificate program, general education diploma and computer program. The organization is headquartered in Providence, R.I.
