This is one of the oldest Reef Shops in RI
The owner knows his stuff. He has been known as the fish doctor for many years.
The shop is small and does not have a big staff, But He works with special needs children from the local schools and helps educate them in aquatic life

I started off with a 10 gallon tank and thanks to these guy am pretty much a pro handling my 2 90 gallon tanks with type of cool fishes. They help start of with the right fishes and the right chemicals.

Aqua-life has been a wonderful place to go to for any of my aquarium needs for four consecutive years now. The owners are always happy to help you, and are clearly interested in the work they do. They will never push you to buy anything, and are very honest about what you shouldn't buy for your tank, which shows how much they care. The dozens of tanks in this store hold beautiful, happy fish in a healthy environment with appropriate decor and plants, so you are very, very unlikely to buy diseased or stressed fish. The store also has a very broad choice of aquatic plants, which they will help you choose for breeding or hiding needs for your specific aquarium. Also, when I brought in my water for testing the first couple of times for my new tank, they cave me small cups of the appropriate salt/bacteria my aquarium needed- free! I have been greatly satisfied with every purchase I have made there and will never buy aquarium supplies anywhere else as long as this store is here.

I would never go to this place again. The owner called me a liar when I told him the lighting system I had for my aquarium. Which I was most certainly being truthful. Then, the owner left the store in the middle of helping me and left me with his store clerk. The clerk was unhelpful and took a phone call, with what sounded like family, for 15 minutes. I had to stand there, already knowing what I wanted, and wait for her to reconnect with whomever she was talking to. Then, to top it all off after buying what I thought was a decent deal on some freshwater plants, I found that they're prices were more than double that of places that are around the area. Please, save yourself the trip and go to another store.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!A great place to buy fish. I went to this store to buy fish and aquarium as a gift for my son's birthday, but I just don't have any idea on what to buy for an 8-year old boy, the owner George and Irene were very helpful in helping me know what's just the right fish for a boy of his age. They're really very accommodating and nice couple. Actually after that, I myself became interested in aquarium and is thinking of getting one for the family. Their fishes are very healthy and they offer a wide variety to their customers. I would surely come back to this place soon!!!

The Best Place to Purchase Fish!

I learned of Aqua-Life through a friend who loves fish as much as I. I was looking forward to visiting this place, but I never expected such knowledgeable and friendly staff. Irene is amazing and gives wonderful advice in choosing that perfect water friend. Her husband is also friendly and helpful. The animals look so healthy and happy too. On one occasion, I selected a feeder fish--Irene let me have the fish for free as she didn't expect it to survive for long-- and Pearl (my fish) survived for two and a half years! I love Aqua-Life and I have kept my promise to never purchase and water pets from anyplace else!

Notably good service experience - lots of help; treats good customers well

Aqua-Life is the top aquarium store I have found in RI. George and Irene run it. George is the fish doctor on AM radio - 1320 WARL Saturdays from 10am-11am. Irene knows every fish in the shop and is a pleasure. They know their stuff, won't sell unhealthy livestock, and have just broadened their plant selection. I like 'em.
