Poughkeepsie Town Supervisor oversees the operations of the town of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. It operates various departments, such as fire, legal, building, accounting, courts, engineering, highway, maintenance, personnel, planning, police, and recreation. The supervisor also looks after the departments of sewer, water, billing and zoning. Additionally, it is responsible for building administration, auto center and animal control office. The city features a variety of attractions, such as the opera house that is one of the oldest in the United States, children s museum, library, mall, and the mid-Hudson civic center. It also houses the Samuel F. B. Morse Center and the Vanderbilt Mansion.
