Most gentle dentist I've ever been to. Very nice staff. Makes it going back so much easier. Always a plus to have a good looking staff to.

I had probably the worst experience with his office. He himself was an excellent surgeon, but unfortunately for him his billing department was horrible. My mother works for the hr department in my company and specifically told this woman how to bill in order to get the most out of my insurance. She didn't follow directions so I ended up with a $2000 bill. I constantly called and asked her to re-bill my insurance the correct way and she claimed that she did. After dealing with her for more than a year she claimed that she didn't have my insurance on file. Nightmare. It's been almost two years dealing with these people before they finally got it straightened out.

Wonderful doctor. Makes his patients feel very comfortable and takes the time to discuss both his concerns and yours. I was terrified of having numbness after wisdom tooth removal and he explained the risks and then did everything in his power to make sure he knew right where my nerves were. I came out unscathed and so happy I went to him. I would highly recommend him.

I haven't accully been here before but your secretary called to resqudule a appt for tomzrrow whitch I told her I wolud call her back after i talked to my co partner about it. because I didn't know if she would let me so I called back 30mins later but she had filled those spots up with emergencys but plz note I have been in pain sence Dec 1st. The only spot they had available left was 2 weeks later...I am not happy about it. U probley would think a consolation is not an emergency but it is for me, my wisdom teeth need to b removed cuz they hurt bad...I keep telling myself I can't take the pain anymore.

PART 1 & 2: Hope you can appreciate this review, since I had a lot of trepidation about having my lower wisdom tooth removed and after having an upper taken out a few years ago, I did not look forward to reliving that unpleasant and painful experience, and heard the lower wisdom was even more of a challenge getting out while the client was only given a local anesthetic like in the case of my first extraction. I also wanted to keep my tooth and the first two surgeons I called told me they dont do that and it was considered medical waste. One of those surgeons receptionist even acted like a tyrant and stated that it was against the law. Well, its my tooth and its not against any law. PART2: When I first called Dr. Akins Office I spoke with Kelly; she was very helpful and gave me an appointment to see Dr. Akin in less time than I ever would have imagined.

PART 3: This was not an emergency appointment either and I was paying out-of-pocket. Kelly, told me to just inform the doctor before the surgery to retain my tooth if I wanted to keep it. Great, but I still had reservations and concerns about the visit. When I arrived 20 minutes early I filled the necessary forms out and was called in to see Dr. Akin at the time of the appointment, despite the full waiting room and folks in with the doctor already. I was immediately taken to X-ray and then to an examination room where topical Cain gel was rubbed over my bad tooth. The place was spotless and the staff that assisted me were attractive and very organized, seeing as all my questions were answered and they made sure I was taken care of even while taking care of the other clients in the office at the same time. Dr. Akin greeted me shortly after and he was a pleasure to meet and speak with. Dr. Akin immediately began the administration of Cain injections.

PART 4: I remembered how painful this process was during my first extraction and mentioned it to the doctor. However, this time it was painless with some minor discomfort. In fact, the whole extraction process was painless, even though my tooth, the staff informed me, was partially bone impacted and was not going to come right out too easily. Both Dr. Akin and his assistant were gentle and fun during the procedure. I could not believe when they told me it was over! I immediately went to the bathroom mirror to see for myself because I could not believe the tooth that had given me pain for months was finally out forever, but it was. My experience with Dr. Akin and his staff has been nothing short of awesome.
