Quincy Carr truly feels blessed by his gift for comedy, a blessing so full that he is compelled to share it with the world. Born in Houston, but shaped by his later home in Austin, Quincy began honing his varied skills from a young age. His penchant for sharp wit and comedy enjoyed an early development, and while growing up he was known as the funny, wild, and energetic one-the epitome of the "class clown". After graduating from Westwood High School in 1994 and a stint in the United States Navy, Quincy plugged ahead toward his long-visualized goals of owning his own businesses, even as he made sure the ends kept meeting. While he was employed as a telemarketer, a co-worker suggested that he try out an open mic night at a comedy club in Virginia Beach-and the rest was history, for Quincy instantly fell in love with his new-found talent. He re-examined the world around him, circumstances and people and settings, and grew to understand a few cardinal rules: that comedy is more than just telling a joke with a funny punch line. That comedy is engaging the audience. It is making them laugh using material created from the most real of life experiences. In the early 1990s, Quincy started cutting his own hair and gained repute as a mobile neighborhood barber. During his years of service in the U.S. Navy, he continued to develop his barbering craft, and after his service remained focused on a long-term goal of owning his own business as a licensed barber. Having already built a substantial clientele with his ethic of personal customer service and dedication to satisfaction, Quincy moved closer to the realization of his goal when he received his licensure by the State of Virginia. At this time Quincy operates at Totally Unique located in the heart of historic downtown Norfolk, VA. His quality services range from a basic military "high and tight" to women's eyebrow shaping and relaxing facials, thus satisfying the needs of his ever growing clientele.
